  Glenn Leslie Zech

  ZECH, Glenn Leslie ? Of Roseburg, Oregon, formerly of Eugene and Florence, Oregon, passed away on November 15, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 63. He was born on February 7, 1941, in Denver, Colorado, to Harold and Mildred Zech. Glenn attended North High School in Denver before enlisting in the U.S. Army in February of 1958. He completed his high school education at the United States Armed Forces institute in Madison, Wisconsin. He spent 2 1/2 years serving in Germany and was honorably discharged in November on 1960. He attended Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado, where he majored in Business Administration. He and his family moved to San Diego, California, in 1968 where he worked in the banking and finance profession. In 1976, Glenn moved his family to Roseburg, Oregon, where he worked in professional sales at the old Water World boat dealership and for Honda of Roseburg selling motorcycles. He enjoyed developing relationships with clients, and extending outstanding customer service with a professional attitude. He later took his skills to Eugene where he worked for Honda of Eugene. He spent nine years selling RV's for Viking Trailer Sales in Junction City, where he said he enjoyed his selling career the most. He later moved to Florence and worked for Johnston Motor Co. selling Ford products. He retired in 2003, after finishing his professional sales career with I-5 RV Sales in Sutherlin, Oregon. He was a man of many talents, and could, figure out how to do anything. He was an avid outdoorsman for the majority of his life, enjoying hunting, fishing, shooting sports, boating, and camping. He later learned to play "at" golf, and enjoying many rounds with friends and his son. He was a tremendous fan of all sports, and was a huge Oregon Duck football fan. He enjoyed his electronic equipment, and was "crazy" about his cell phone. He spent several mornings a week with the "Coffee Gang" in Roseburg over the last two years since moving back to Roseburg to care for his mother. He was visited and supported until his passing by his friends, Joe; Paul; Gale; Darrell; and childhood friend, Dick Clark who flew out from the East Coast to be with him in his last days. Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Harold Zech and brother, Dale. Survivors include his mother, Mildred Zech of Roseburg; brother, Lyle of California; his first wife and longtime companion, Carol Zech of Roseburg, who was with him every moment in his courageous battle with cancer; two daughters, Laurie Busenbark of Eugene and Lynda Wolfe of Roseburg; one son, Dave Zech and his wife, Tami of Eugene; Oregon; and four grandchildren, Kevin Busenbark; Jasmin Zech; David Busenbark; and Dale Wolfe. No public service is planned. A private family burial will take place in Florence as per Glenn's wishes. Burn's Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home and Siuslaw Valley Crematory are in charge of arrangements.
