He was born Dec/21/1886 in Appleton City, Osage Twp., St. Clair Co., MO, and died Jul/29/1963 in Coleharbor, McLean Co., ND.

"His mother's name is Elizabeth Duvall. She was born either in Kentucky or Tennessee (he thinks Kentucky). Her father's name is Sam and (as far as Les knows) he lived most of his life in Missouri. He died before Les was born. Elizabeth's mother's name is unknown right now -but her nickname was "Tumpy". Her maiden name was Duvall also -they (Sam and Tumpy) were first cousins. She lived in Kansas after Sam's death.

Elizabeth had the following siblings:

2 brothers - Oliver (who was Lil's husband)

Thomas

5 sisters - Mae, Nellie, Clara, Daisy, Lucy

Nellie and Clara lived in Kellogg, Idaho; Lucy never married

Les remembers Elizabeth having an uncle called Uncle Press (he thinks it might have been the name "Presley" that was shortened). He was a Union officer in the Civil War (possibly lived in Kentucy).

There was a cousin - Lester Duvall ( Les thinks he was named after him) that was a farmer in Oklahoma - large farm operation, he thinks he was quite wealthy. Your father went to work for him for a while during harvest during the early '30's."
