Notes for SARAH CATHERINE HUDSON: Marion, IN Library chart Judi Stucky "Descendants of Sarah Catherine Hudson": vital statistics (deathdate ‘12 Aug 1919’); 1870 Grant Co., IN census: aas ‘Catherine’ age 4; 1880 Grant Co., IN census (Pleasant township) [E.D. 170; Sh. 23; ll. 20-27]: age 14; not in parents’ 1923 obituaries (1 week apart, Feb/Mar) as a survivor; Judi Stucky "Descendants of Sarah Boots" [Nov 2000] proposes a marriage to ‘George Wolf’ on the basis of the following obituary: ‘As I have never been able to find a marriage record for Sarah the data I have is taken from the obituary of Sarah's sister Bess' husband John Coffman who died in 1908. From the last part of his obit.: "His wife is a sister of Harry and Carl Hudson of Marion. Mr. and Mrs, Carl Hudson recently returned from a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Coffman and George Wolf and wife left Marion only a few days ago to visit them and arrived shortly before the accident. Mrs. George Wolf is a sister of Mrs. Coffman. She telegraphed to Marion relatives that the body will be brought to Marion for burial leaving Batavia (NY.) at noon today and arriving in Marion Friday morning about 9 o'clock." Note: John was crushed to death by a iron plate weighing 2000 pounds). [later e-mail, 3-IX-2002, amends this obituary with ‘in Grant Co., IN Marriage Records an India Ellanora Coffman married George Wolff in 1896; this lady isn’t a child of Bess & John Coffman so I presume she was possibly his sister; so John Coffman’s obit should have read that Mrs Wolf was a sister of Mr (rather than Mrs) Coffman…’]; & ‘I did find a marriage record for Carrie Hudson to Frank Simmons in 11 Nov 1882 …’ while . . . . . . . .a descendant, Cindy Hyman, gives the following picture [which is followed here, without Geo. Wolf]: ‘George Wolf? … I've never heard of him. … My direct line is as follows: Martin Boots, Sarah Boots Conner, Amanda Conner Hudson, Sarah Catherine Hudson Simmons, Georgia Simmons Albright, Alice Rosalie Albright Kochman, Cynthia A.
