NANCY MAY2 PENDROY (JACOB1)1 was born May 29, 1829 in OH1, and died Sep 18, 1903 in Velva, McHenry Co., ND. She married JOHN WILLIAM YOUNG1 Mar 26, 1845 in Delaware Co., IN1. He was born Abt. 1823 in ?1, and died Jul 12, 1883 in near Monroe, IA1.

Notes for NANCY MAY PENDROY:

  • Nancy moved west into the Dakota Territory, with the Pendroys that founded Pendroy, North Dakota in 1883. Since records state John Young died July 12, 1883 at about age 60, it appears Nancy Young was newly widowed when she moved to North Dakota with all the Pendroy migration.

  • Nancy May (Pendroy) Young, and her husband John William Young and children, came to the Monroe, Iowa area (near the Marion and Jasper County line) either with, or shortly after her parents, Jacob and Margaret (Boots) Pendroy.

  • The 1850 census found John and Nancy (Pendroy) Young in extreme southern Jasper County, near Monroe, IA., just across the county line north of where Jacob lived in Summit Township in Marion County, IA. Here is the 1850 census information. Somehow the family is in both county census records. Don't know if they moved or because they lived on or near county line.
