Notes for JAMES FRANKLIN BOOTS:

  • "Descendants of Adam Boots" [LDS film#1033425] pp. 674-679, 681;

  • "Peterson (Biedert) Family History" pp. 52-68 [LDS film#1036370] by Clyde S. Boots: ‘died 21 Nov 1913 [no such date exists];

  • Bonnie Bailey to L. Ellingham [12-V-2002]: death data; no children by 1880 census, while (half-) brother, Robert, age 9, is with family — a servant, Alberta ‘Tuna’ [Soundex] or ‘Teng’ [alternative reading], age 18, is with the family and is from Sweden — relative?; anonymous typed text [n.d.];

  • 1860 Montgomery Co., IN census (Sugar Creek township) p. 91: age 23;

  • 1880 Montgomery Co., IN census at Crawfordsville [E.D. 99; Sh. 13; ll. 15-18]: age 43; farmer — brother, Robert Boots, age 4, is with family;

  • 1900 Montgomery Co., IN census at Crawfordsville [E.D. 114; Sh. 8A; ll. 28-29]: age 63; ‘capitalist’; married 11 years; 1 child born, none living;

  • Kami Olsson-Tapp to L. Ellingham e-mail [28-VI-2002]: ‘James F. Boots enlisted 20th Light IN Artillery Reg. 19 Sep 1862, mustered out 28 Jun 1865 at Indianapolis; pension (Civil War) filed as invalid 17 Feb 1887;

  • Athalinda as widow, 2 Jan 1914’

Notes for ATHALINDA L. TAPP:

  • "Descendants of Adam Boots" [LDS film#1033425] p. 681;

  • "Peterson (Biedert) Family History" pp. 52-68 [LDS film#1036370] by Clyde S. Boots: ‘Athalinda L. Tapp’ gives deathdate ‘31 Nov 1913’ [not a possible date], and a birth venue ‘Union township, Montgomery Co., IN’; no children by 1880 census;

  • 1880 Montgomery Co., IN census at Crawfordsville [E.D. 99; Sh. 13; ll. 15-18]: age 43; she [as Athalinda] and her parents were born in Sweden — her brother-in-law, Robert Boots, age 4, is with family — adjacent this family in 1880 are Samuel Tapp and his wife, Rebecca, aged 76 & 74 respectively, however he and his parents are noted to be born in Virginia, and she too is born in Virginia, while her parents are born in Pennsylvania — a servant, Alberta ‘Tuna’ [Soundex] or ‘Teng’ [alternative reading], age 18, is with the family and is from Sweden — relative? (a family connection seems plain, and the information about Sweden may be wholly or partly erroneous);

  • 1900 Montgomery Co., IN census at Crawfordsville [E.D. 114; Sh. 8A; ll. 28-29]: age 63 [as Athalulda]: married 11 years; 1 child born, none living;

  • Kami Olsson-Tapp to L. Ellingham e-mail [28-VI-2002]: ‘James F. Boots Civil War pension: Athalinda as widow, 2 Jan 1914;

  • not in 1920 census [as a Boots, in any case]’
