Mrs. W. W. Minor of Marion, a half sister, G. O. Flinn of Converse, a brother, Mrs. A. L. Chaplain, a half-sister.' James E. born in Marion, Ind., Jan. 4, 1847, son of John Wesley and Rebecca (Boots) Flinn. Rebecca's father, Martin Boots, was the first white man to enter land in Grant county, gave the land for the court house, where is placed a monument to his memory. James E. was highly respected by all who knew him, operated a grain elevator in Converse all his life, moved to Marion on Boots street, in 1894, where he passed away Apr. 9, 1911.
