‘Dear Mrs. Watson, Just a few lines to say we had our Thanksgiving dinner last eve in Richland. Sure is some town. I missed all of you a lot today. Wish I could have stayed to the end. Sure going to be a lot of work here. Better come over. Our son Warren came here last eve and just by chance we met him this morn. We were surely surprised. Left your radio in the cabin joining mine. Guess you have it now. My husband will go into the Sacred Heart Hosp on Tue.  [Spokane, WA - 3 hours] Tell all of the sorters hello for me. And write me at 4819 N Lidgerwood, Spokane, Wn. Regards to Mr. Watson & Johnnie.

Elsie Shaw. [William Delbert survived this surgery.]

(I looked at a map of Pateros, and there's a road called Bill Shaw Road. I was trying to find some history of Pateros to see what Elsie was "sorting" in 1947. Could have been mining-related. Came to no conclusion. The Spokane address is still viable, but more than 4 miles from the current hospital. Maybe the hospital had a different location in 1947 than it does now. Pateros is in north-central WA "north of us, closer to Canada"); June Hodgkiss" (<delaine@kona.net>): ‘Hi Corliss, How/where didyou aquire so many cards esp Elsies? I have a stack about 8 in hi that mom had?  Elsie worked at the Navel Station @ Coure de laine (sp) during the war. I haven't located my maps since the remodel so can't place Pateros — It must have been about this time they moved to the Tri Cities area. I don't think Bill Shaw refered to him. I didn't even know his name was Wm. He was always known as Del. None of the kids were named Wm unless a middle name. I thought it was in Canada but at some point they

lived in a trailer house/mobile home that burned down, lost everything. I suppose you must have seen something of the Harley Davidson treck to minneapolis on the news. Some 3 million people I think. Would you believe I saw Gerry on ABC news. Alone upper body frame clear as a bell. I can't even imagine what the odds of that must be. Even got a copy of it. Charla Bjarko, Lenore's daughter said Susan is Skitzophrenic (sp) Her mother had it also, committed suicide 3 months or so ago. She too was so talented when younger but wouldn't stay medicated. Well Aloha until later luv june’
