From msg. of 2/20/99 Randy Duvall
Hello Duvall Cousins,
I live in Russellville, Pope County, Arkansas and have been doing the Duvall
research for over 10 years. Alexander Gabriel
is buried here in Pascal Cemetery, spot unknown. Would eventualy like to put
up a memorial for him. According to the old timers his middle name was Gabriel.
We have a lot
on the Saline County Duvall line plus the
Mississipp Duvall's. All the Pope County ones have been hard to seperate but
we are
about there. We think that Alexander's dad is
Lewis Duvall. A possibility that Lewis's dad
is John Duvall that arrived in S.C. in 1768
by ship. Need to look at the Croft research
along with the Duvall research in that area.
Could be John Lewis? Will be happy to share
info. Randy Duvall

He had 11 children. One of this is James Jackson DuVall born 1824, married

Lewis and Nancy (Wiley) Duvall had a son named Oliver Perry Duvall. In O.P.'s
household in 1850 is John Duvall who filed a letter on behalf of his mother, the
widow of Capt. Lewis Duvall, for a Revolutionary War veteran's widow's pension.
If, as you say, Lewis is the son of the immigrant, John Duvall, how do you
explain old John Duvall, his letter, and connection to Capt. Lewis Duvall living
with O.P.?
